My art work, patterns of repeat images, celebrate my Hawaiian ancestry and community, important to our survival and to waves, the vehicle and meaning of everything we know and don’t know. I began diving before learning to swim and have been saved more that once. I try to approach art with this same abandon, sink or swim, a commitment to the unknown. In a life time of doing art, the process does not get easier, only the confidence that art appears.
